Motion Design
Act Together, Vote Together

Brief
Design an animation for the RSA that reveals, illuminates and increase accessibility to an extract from Vivek Murthy's talk on societal divisions.
Response
Adopting a political focus, I researched political polarisation and discovered that such divisions pose a threat to democracy as they decrease traditional forms of political participation (i.e. voting). I used the symbol of a ripped ballot paper to literally show the divide as well as figuratively represent the destruction of democracy. The motion graphic shows how we must overcome these divisions by engaging in the democratic process, metaphorically reconstructing the ballot paper, to create a better world. It adopts a cut out and ripped paper aesthetic throughout to reference the physical paper ballot that can make an actual difference to society.
