Act Together, Vote Together

Brief

Design an animation for the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) that reveals, illuminates and increases accessibility to an audio extract from Vivek Murthy’s talk on societal divisions.

Response

My main goal was to aid understanding and encourage the audience to engage with Vivek Murthy’s sentiment and then act on it to create change. I focused specifically on the issue of political polarisation to urge people, despite their political despondency, to vote.

The ripped ballot paper acts as a symbol, representing the destruction of democracy while visually showing a physical divide. Following its journey, I show how we must overcome these divisions by engaging in the democratic process to metaphorically reconstruct the ballot paper, and create a better world.
